EDF Renewable Energy and Dominion Close on Acquisition of Solar Facility in California

EDF Renewable Energy closed on the sale of the Catalina Solar 2 Project (24.3 MWp), located in Kern County, California to Dominion (NYSE: D). The purchase and sale agreement, announced in September 2014, closed on June 30, 2015 when the installation of the project was officially complete.

EDF RE continued to manage the project through the commissioning process to place the project in service on July 22, 2015. The electricity generated will be provided to Southern California Edison under a 20-year PPA.

EDF Renewable Energy is one of the largest renewable energy developers in North America with 6 gigawatts (GW) of wind, solar, biomass, and biogas projects developed. Catalina Solar 2 represents EDF RE's 15th renewable energy project developed in California generating a combined 1.3 GW of clean energy for the state.
