Kola NPP has Received an Operating License for the 1st Power Unit from Rostekhnadzor

On 6 July, 2018, the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service issued a license for the operation of Kola NPP power unit No 1 for the next 15 years, until 6 July, 2033.

“At this moment the scheduled preventive maintenance at the 1st unit continues. All repairs are aimed at increasing the level of safety and extending the lifespan of the equipment at its additional operation period”, Vladimir Matveev, the Chief Engineer of the NPP, emphasized.

On 29 June, 2018, Kola NPP celebrated its 45th anniversary. The Plant works reliably and efficiently, remaining an environmentally friendly enterprise and providing Murmansk Oblast and the Republic of Karelia with electric energy. From the moment of its commissioning the NPP has generated more than 414 billion kWh of electric power.
