Power Supply Restored at Mongstad Refinery

After the fire in an electrical kiosk on February 15th, the Mongstad plant had reduced power supply.

Equinor mobilized required competence and capacity to improve the situation. Early Sunday morning, February 18th, the power supply was restored and work to normalize the plant is underway.

It is too early to say anything about the cause of the incident, and Equinor will investigate the incident.

The fire in the electrical kiosk at Mongstad refinery has been extinguished.

The fire was reported extinguished at 15.36 CET. Emergency personnel were routinely sent for medical follow-up.

The plant was closed and evacuated for non-critical personnel. There were 950 people at the facility when the incident occurred. It is too early to say anything about the cause of the incident.

Equinor’s emergency organisation was mustered, and authorities were notified.
